As per the analysis report of the OpenSignal, 5G users in the United States get around 20% times 5G networks only otherwise they are connected to the 4G network for the remaining time. The report also shows 5G users get average download speed up to 50.9Mbps only which is just around double of the 4G LTE network.
The crazy customers about 5G networks need to use 5G enabled smartphones but they have limited choice for 5G devices but they have a wide variety of phone plans that allow 5G access.
All three major carriers in the USA are expanding their 5G network by adding new cities and towers and offers 5G access to all customers of all phone plans. Two small carriers Boost Mobile which uses the DISH network and US Cellular which operates in the north-central region of the USA also offer 5G access to their customers in all phone plans. Many MVNOs are also offering 5G access phone plans but 5G access is available in their expensive plans only.
Let us see which phone plans offer 5G access.
All three major carriers have upgraded their network with 5G access but still, they are not offering 5G access to all customers. 5G access is allowed to customers of select plans. We will make a list of those plans so that you may take a conscious decision before purchasing a new phone plan with 5G access.
If you have a 5G capable device, you get connected to the 5G network on any plan of T-Mobile. T-Mobile allows 5G access to customers of its all plans. Verizon customers of all three unlimited data Plan can access 5G for a limited time and after that $10/mo extra. AT&T allows access to 5G network to its unlimited data plans.
Cricket Wireless is also offering access to a nationwide AT&T 5G network. If you subscribe to its expensive unlimited plan for a price of $60/mo. There in another new data-only plan for $90/mo also which allows 5G access with 100GB high-speed data allowance.
US Cellular also offer 5G access to its customer of two plans, Unlimited Everyday or Even Better plan. The Everyday unlimited data plan costs $65/mo for one line and offers HD quality streaming of video, 25GB of high-speed 5G priority data, 15GB hotspot data usage. The plan also allows one free rental Redbox movie night per month.
The Even Better unlimited data plan costs $75/mo and offer full HD quality streaming of video, 50GB of high-speed 5G priority data, 30GB hotspot data usage, and pay back $10 per line if the line uses less than 3GB data during a month. The plan also allows two free rental Redbox movie night per month per line. By opting for multiple lines for family, the total bill may be reduced.
Boost Mobile: If you have a 5G enabled device, you can use the 5G network offered by Boost Mobile for its both unlimited plans at the price of $50/mo and $60/mo. Both plans allow you to use 35GB data but the unlimited plan priced at $50/Mo will also allow you to use 12GB hotspot data, while the Unlimited plan priced at $60/Mo allows you 30GB hotspot data.
Metro by T-Mobile: Being the Prepaid brand of T-Mobile, it offers 5g access to all its prepaid plans if you have a 5G enabled device. The plans are also the same as being offered by T-Mobile. It would be better to select one of its two unlimited plans at a cost of $50/mo or $60/mo. The difference between these two plans is the hotspot allowance. The unlimited plan for $50 allows 5GB mobile hotspot data while an unlimited plan for $60 allows 15GB mobile hotspot data plus a free subscription of the Amazon Prime streaming platform. Both unlimited plans allow Google One cloud storage of 100GB
Google Fi: If you have a 5G capable phone compatible with T-Mobile’s 5G network, you can get access to 5G with Google Fi’s expensive phone plans. The most preferred plan is the unlimited data plan which allows you 22GB high-speed data and costs $70/mo. If you get this plan for your family, you can get it for $45/mo per line if you subscribe to 4 lines. Google Fi is a great choice for frequent travelers because it offers data roaming at the same cost in over 200 countries worldwide.
US Mobile: This MVNO by using the 5G network of T-Mobile or Verizon, offers a variety of phone plans but its unlimited plan costs cheaper $40/mo only and allows you to use 50GB data with 10GB hotspot data.
All the above cellphone carriers offer 5G access and have different plans, you can choose any plan that suits you below $50/mo. If you choose a higher-priced plan, the price can be reduced by adding more lines for the family. Effectively, you can get any expensive or premium cell phone plan below $50 by adding more lines. You also get other perks by selecting a higher-priced premium plan so choose the plan wisely.
