Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched recently a new Bharat Fiber Broadband plan to compete with private telecom operators, especially aggressive plans by Jio Fiber and Airtel Xstream. BSNL added four new Bharat Fibre FTTH Broadband plans but OTT is offered with two plans at FMC Rs 999 and Rs 1499 only. JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber also have Fiber Broadband plans at these monthly prices for their users. So let us compare their Fiber Broadband plan for monthly billing of Rs 1499.
BSNL Rs 1499 Broadband Ultra Plan
The new BSNL Bharat Fiber Broadband Plan for FMC Rs 1499 is dubbed Fibre Ultra and is available at select major places across the country where BSNL is facing competition. Customers subscribing to this plan can use fiber unlimited data but they will get download speeds up to 300Mbps till 4000GB data and after consuming this much data, the download speed gets slower up to 4Mbps for unlimited data usage.
The plan offers 24 hours of unlimited calling to any network across the country. You also get a free subscription to the Disney+Hotstar Premium OTT platform which is now a day very popular for live streaming of IPL 2020.
Airtel Xstream Fiber Broadband Plan Rs 1499
Airtel Xstream Fiber also offers an Ultra-broadband plan for a monthly price of Rs 1499 which allows you to use 3333GB data usage at a download speed of up to 300Mbps and after reaching 3333GB data limits, the download speed drops to 1Mbps.
This Ultra-broadband plan is also rich with a free subscription to 10 OTT platforms which include Lions gate Play, Voot Basic, EROS Now, Hungama Play, Shemaroo Me, Hoichoi, and Ultra. However, it has to be noted that Airtel requires its Xstream Fiber users in most cities to opt for the Xstream DTH box to receive OTT benefits.
JioFiber Diamond Fiber Broadband Plan Rs 1499
JioFiber also has an FTTH Broadband plan for a monthly price of Rs 1499 dubbed as a Diamond plan which offers similar benefits. The Diamond plan offers 300Mbps download speed up to 3300GB data usage and after crossing this limit, the download speed reduces to 1Mbps for unlimited data usage. The customers also get free unlimited voice calling to any network.
As compared to the Fibre Ultra plan of BSNL, which offer just one OTT platform, and Airtel’s Xstream fiber plan which offer 10 OTT, the JioFiber plans offer free subscriptions for 12 numbers of OTT platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar VIP, Sony LIV, ZEE5, JioCinema, Lionsgate Play, Voot, SunNXT, Hoichoi, ShemarooMe, and ALT Balaji.
Verdict
For a monthly price of Rs 1499 fiber broadband plans, you get the best plan from Jio Fiber- Diamond plan, if you want entertainment along with the internet because of a lot of free subscriptions to the 12 most popular OTT platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar VIP, and Sony LIV.
If you are data-savvy, then BSNL offers hefty data usage even after FUP at 4Mbps while the other two offer 1Mbps. Select as per your need.
Vodafone-Idea (Vi) offers broadband services in association with YOU Broadband but that offers plans at the most 200Mbps download speed and very vast price variation across many cities from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 per month.
