US Mobile

US Mobile has announced a range of modifications to its service offerings recently, with a particular focus on its “Dark Star” network. This term refers to the plans available through the AT&T network. US Mobile states that customers can now access a “truly unlimited, never throttled, premium priority data plan” exclusively on the Dark Star network for $32.50 per month when billed annually, or $44 when billed monthly. These prices include taxes and fees.

The Unlimited Premium data plan include following features:

  • Unlimited Priority Data (QCI-8)
  • Unlimited Hotspot Data
  • QHD 1440p Streaming
  • Multi-Gig Speeds where available
  • International Data in 90+ Countries up to 20GB
  • International Calling & Texting
  • Free Network Transfers

US Mobile provides this plan on its Warp 5G (Verizon) and Light Speed (T-Mobile) networks; however, the features vary. On these networks, truly unlimited and non-throttled data is not offered, while Dark Star ensures superior streaming speeds. More unlimited data plans available from $17.50 per month.

Mint Mobile

Mint Mobile has refreshed its wireless offerings to include a genuinely unlimited 5G data plan. Previously, their top-tier plan limited users to 40GB of 5G data, after which speeds would drop to 3G. Now, customers can enjoy unlimited 5G data, although speeds might be temporarily reduced after using 35GB during times of network congestion.

This plan also provides 10GB of data for hotspot usage, and video streaming is capped at a resolution of 480p. Keep in mind that taxes and fees are additional.

The standard pricing for this plan is $30 per month with an annual payment, $35 per month for a six-month prepayment, and $40 per month for a three-month prepayment. However, as part of a special promotion, new customers can sign up for the plan at just $25 per month with an annual prepayment. After the first year, the plan will automatically renew at the regular price.

The $25/month price for genuinely unlimited data plans remains a hotly contested space among carrier-owned prepaid brands. Mint Mobile has now joined the fray, adding to the competition. Verizon’s brands, including Total Wireless, Straight Talk Wireless, Visible, and the dealer-only Verizon Prepaid, all offer truly unlimited 5G data plans at this price. Metro by T-Mobile also has a similar offering. Meanwhile, AT&T’s Cricket Wireless provides a truly unlimited 5G data plan, but it’s exclusively for new customers who agree to prepay for a full year of service upfront.
