The use of social media has increased many folds during this lockdown period of Coronavirus pandemic for connecting with their friends and family members and it is obvious that top most social media app Facebook is being used most. Most Facebook users also use Facebook messenger for chatting privately and in groups.

- Phishing: In this way, cyber-criminal creates a fake login page that looks exactly like the real Facebook page and then asks the victim to log in. Once the victim logs in through the fake Facebook page, cyber-criminals gets the victim’s “Email ID/ Phone number” and “Password”.
- Keylogging: The cyber-criminals install anyhow Keylogger program on the victim’s computer, which will record everything victim types on his/her computer. The cyber-criminals get the logs through FTP or email.
- Stealer’s: Most of us use stored passwords in their browser to access Facebook account and here Stealer’s capture the saved passwords stored in the victim’s Internet browser.
- Session Hijacking: If you are accessing Facebook on an HTTP (non-secure) connection on LAN or Public WiFi connections, cyber-criminals can steal the victim’s browser cookie by which he can get credential of your Facebook profile.
- Sidejacking with Firesheep: It is another form of Session hijacking session and works if cyber-criminals and victims are in the same WiFi network.
- USB Hacking: If cyber-criminals get physical access to your computer, he just needs to insert a USB programmed with a function to automatically extract saved passwords in the Internet browser.
