Reliance Communication (RCOM) has chosen Rev B EVDO services to offer data services in its non-3G circles and the company has started it from Chennai and Bangalore. The customers of these two metro can now enjoy high speed data services with 14.7 Mbps speed on Reliance Rev B service under its Pro 3 Plan.rcom_pro3

Reliance is offering speed more than double of Tata Photon Max which offers up to 6.2 Mbps while it is almost one and half times as compared to MTS. MTS offers speed up to 9.8 Mbps to its customers using MTS Ultra service on its Rev EVDO network.

Reliance has four postpaid Pro 3 plans with monthly rentals at Rs 999, Rs 699, Rs 799 and Rs 499. Out of all these four plans, Plan Rs 999 is the most economical which offers you 40GB at 14.7 Mbps speed.

The details of all these four plans are given below

Customers can also choose Advance Rental Plan by which they can save up to 29%

MTS also offers 40GB data plan for Rs 999 but you have to consume 20GB in day time and rest 20GB in night time. MTS has another good plan with monthly rental of Rs 700 which allows you total 14GB free data (7GB in day + 7GB in night).

Tata DoCoMo has costliest data plan among all these three, it has 20GB plan for Rs 1000 and 30GB data plan for Rs 1250.

Looking at above, it is clear RCOM has brought best Rev B EVDO service with affordable plans.

  • I was in a fix to choose whom Reliance, Airtel, MTS and Tata Photon Max wifi
    I have chose MTS
    Made a big mistake
    Now I am repenting
but I have wasted money by purchased the MTS Device… Its speed too slow… Oops 🙁

Request to all you please don’t buy MTS if you want to get speedy work

As MTS can afford only 2 device at a time with slow speed….

  • Sir am living at marathahalli,Bangalore. Right now am planning to buy a dongle with unlimited plan. My monthly consumption would be about 20 to 30gb. I came across all network providers like Mts, docomo, reliance, bsnl, airtel also. Finally came to a conclusion among the two reliance pro3 or bsnl…. Please give me a conclusion that which one would be good in speed and money wise.

    • Reliance Pro 3 is, of course, cheaper but check the signal strength and test speed where you want to use it before taking a final call.

Relince launched their much advertised PRO-3 DONGLE last week in Cochin.

A DEMO was arranged at my home in Tripunithura, which is only 4 kms from Cochin city.In the demo, it has given only 1mbps speed instead of the much boasted 14.7mbps.

Today one lady from Reliace called me and she said she is doing the follow up. Her question is why I am bothered about speed, when I am able to watch YOU TUBE by using their PRO-3.

I am using Asianet broadband, Idea 3G as well as Reliance Netconnect 3 at my home. The comparative test results (Ookla) are:

Service Provider Type Ping(ms) Down load (mbps) Up load (mbps) Claimed down sp (mbps)

    Asianet Broadband 11 0.74 0.42 2.5

    Idea 3G 123 2.03 1.71 3.1

    Reliance Netconnect3 192 0.76 0.31 3.1

    Reliance Pro-3 90 0.99 0.44 14.7

The reader can infer how Reliance is taking you for a ride.

  • It is really pathetic to see the internet speeds of India.Ookla net index (Global broadband) states Singapore is at 110 Mbps, whereas India at 6 Mbps. The service providers cheat there also by dishonouring their promises. Reliance Pro-3 wifi dongle is marketed claiming to provide a speed of 14.7 Mbps and actually not providing even 1 Mbps.

  • I am an internet user in India(Cochin)for the last 3 years and I would like to share my views with others:
    1) ASIANET: broadband-wired connection – scheme-speed 980-unlimited-stationary modem and wifi-I get connection in all 3 rooms- laptop (1), mobile(3),ipad (1),notebook(1) & chrome cast (1)-Rs 1100/month-billing in advance.Claimed speed-4mbps upto 20 GB usage and 512 kbps beyond 20 GB.Actual speed (Ookla) is only 0.74 mbps.Browsing, seeing videos from you tube.Satisfactory performance with 360 p clarity.Because it is wired connection,at times, the service is interrupted and normally the Customer Service is “busy”,when you call.

    2) IDEA 3G:As there is interruption of net connection with Asianet quite often either due to their problems or due to power interruption,I have taken 3G connection in my Android mobile also-Plan 1 GB validity one month with a claimed speed of 2.5 mbps-Rs 249/month prepaid.Actually I get a speed(Ookla)of
    2.03 mbps.

    3) Whenever the asianet is not working,I continue the work on my laptop by connecting the mobile to laptop by ‘tethering and portable hotspot’ application in mobile.

    4) Inference: With a monthly expenditure of Rs 1100+ 249=Rs 1349, I am able to use to the internet continuously. It may please be noted, the Chromcast will not work with 3G,as it needs wifi connection.
