Indian Mobile operators uses 4G LTE network bands 40 (2300MHz TDD-LTE) and band 3 (1800MHz FDD-LTE). Currently Airtel and Aircel are offering 4G services on Band 40 while Reliance Jio is almost ready to launch its 4G services on Pan India basis on both Band 40 and Band 3.
To use 4G services on your smartphone, your device must be compatible to function with these two Bands 40 and Band 3. Recently many domestic as well as International phone makers have launched 4G supported smartphones that will also work with Indian 4G networks.
Here are the latest 4G supported phones that may be purchased for use in India.
Micromax YU Yureka: This is a dual SIM, 5.5 inch full HD display phone and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 2,500 mAh battery. The Yureka is equipped with a 13-MP primary camera with 1080p video recording and a 5-MP front-facing camera. The phone is priced at Rs 8999 and will be available for sale exclusively on amazon e-commerce website starting January 9, 2015.
ASUS Zenfone 2: This phone has been launched at CES-2015 but we have to wait for its formal launch in India but this phone has awesome features. It is dual SIM phone, featuring a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display, powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel chipset, fitted with a 13-MP camera and powered by a large 3,000 mAh battery. It don’t have front facing camera.
Zenfone 2 will be available in three in-built storage models viz 16GB/32GB and 64GB and will come with two RAM variants – 2GB and 4GB. Internal storage can also be expandable up to 64GB by microSD card. Its 2GB RAM/16GB model is prices $199 while 4GB RAM/32GB model is priced at $249. The devices will be available in the last week of first quarter.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G: This one is also support Indian 4G network and its booking has been started on Airtel website as well as on Flipkart e-commerce site for just Rs 9999. It also has amzing features, to know more about features, please click here.
Gionee Pioneer P5L: This 4G enabled smartphone has already been launched at Rs 10000, except 4G support, it has all other features as a normal 3G phone have like, dual SIM, 4.7 inch FWVGA screen with 480×854 pixels display, powered by by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor coupled with an ARM Mali 400 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which further expandable up to 128GB via micro SD card, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, 1800mAh battery.
Gionee CTRL V6L: This 4G smartphone is priced at Rs 15000 and accordingly it comes with some improved features like it has bigger 5-inch HDscreen with 720×1280 pixels resolution display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, bigger 1950mAh battery. All other features are same as Pioneer P5L like 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which further expandable up to 128GB via micro SD card, Android 4.4 KitKat.
Nokia Lumia 638: It is available at Rs 8299 on Amazon site but its features are not as comparable as other 4G enabled smartphone. This is windows operated smartphone and has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. It is fitted with 5MP rear camera and does not have front camera, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which can further be expanded up to 128GB with micro SD, 1830mAh battery. Other new 4G smartphones that may be used in India includes, LG F60, LG F70, LG G3 Beat, Lenovo Vibe X2 and HTC Desire 820.
Huawei is also in line and is planning to launch new smartphones with 4G LTE support under Rs. 10,000 in the Indian market within the next six months. New phones will support both 4G LTE bands 40 and band 3.
