How to save Videos from WhatsApp Status

Since WhatsApp launched the “Status” feature, people are using it almost on daily basis to share their favorite videos and photos with their dear and near ones and some of you want to save videos also.

Status is visible to those contacts only, which are saved in the Contact list on both sides i.e. the user who is sharing Status must have saved your mobile number in his/her Contact list and you must have also saved his/her phone number in your own Contact list.

There are several reasons why you want to save photos and videos from WhatsApp status, including:

1. Personal memories: If you see a status update that features a special moment, such as a birthday celebration or a family vacation, you might want to save the photo or video to look back on later.
2. Sharing with others: If you want to share a photo or video that a contact has posted as their status, saving it to your device first can make it easier to share with others through WhatsApp or other social media platforms.
3. Reference material: If someone posts an interesting or informative video on their status, you might want to save it so you can watch it again later or reference it in the future.
4. Backup purposes: Saving photos and videos from WhatsApp status can also serve as a backup in case the original content is deleted or becomes inaccessible.

It’s important to note that while it is possible to save photos and videos from WhatsApp status, it’s important to respect people’s privacy and only save content that you have permission to save.

The videos and photos on WhatsApp Status disappear after 24 hours automatically. If you like photos shared at status, you can save them by taking screenshots but many of you may not be aware of how to save videos.

How to save Videos from WhatsApp Status

There are two ways to save WhatsApp Status easily. The simplest way is to install a Status Saver app from the Google play store and the other way is to save Status manually.

Both ways are explained below:

Save Status files manually

Whenever your contact number puts video or photos, WhatsApp saves it to a temporary folder locally on your phone. You just need to copy it from the temporary file and save it to another folder. The procedure is explained below.

1. First of all, view the status which you want to save. Now this will make a temporary copy of the same on the phone’s storage.
2. Open your Files or File Manager app on your phone.
3. Enable “Show hidden files” for which you may be asked to open the settings of your file manager and set it to show hidden files.
4. Now open folder – Internal storage > WhatsApp > Media > Statuses.
5. Here, you will see videos and photos of Status, just copy them and paste them into a different folder or your regular media gallery.

Status Saver app

If you are not comfortable with the above procedure, just install the “Status Saver” app from the Google play store, allowing it to access photos, media, and files on your device. Now select the photos or videos which you want to save and tap the Save icon

But, please be careful and don’t save photos or videos of your contact number without their permission, and never share any other social media without their consent.
