Optus’s 1GB data plan costs $20 while Savvytel offer it for just $9.99

Recently Optus launched new range of mobile broadband plan to offer more flexibility and to avoid large excess data charges. au_optus_mvno copyOptus offered four new Optus My Broadband plan starting from $20 per month for 1GB. But it is found that same data plan of 1GB is also offered by MVNO Savvytel Mobile at just $9.99, almost 50% discounted. You may get coverage of 4G network of Optus in some areas but all its MVNO uses 3G network of Optus.

Savvytel Mobile uses the network of Optus and has bulk access at wholesale rate and offer the data plan at some discounted rates.

If we look on the data plans offered by Optus and its all MVNOs, we find that MVNOs are offering same data plan at discounted rates.

Let us have a quick look on all mobile broadband data plans.

Virgin mobile has large option for you at 3G speed and their prepaid data plan starts from 400MB for $15 with validity of 15 days. There are three data plans which has long expiry of 365 days, 10GB for $99, 12GB for $149 and 18GB for $199
TPG has one mobile plan of $17.99 per month, which offers unlimited calls on TPG Mobile and home phones calls and 1.5GB data usage. Excess Data will be charged @25¢ per MB
Savvytel has ever most budget plans, 1GB for just $9.99 per month, 2.5GB data for $19.90 per month, 4GB data for $29.90 per moth and for low data user with longer validity i.e. 10GB data for $99.90 with 365 days validity
Amaysim has data packs of 1GB for $9.90, 2.25GB for $19.90 and 4GB for $29.90, all these packs have 30 days validity. One more most econmoical data pack is of 10GB for just $99.90 with validity of 365 days.
Dodo has prepaid plan of $39 which have three options out of which 5GB data usage per month is the best one. Dodo also offer double allownace during off-peak hours 12am to 7am. Dodo has large vaiety of top-ups starting from 250MB for $10, 1GB for $20, 3GB for $40, 6GB for $70, 10GB for $99 and highest 15GB for $139 only
Live connected has 3G combo plan of $45 per month which offer unlimited talk and text with bundled data of 3GB per month but you cann't use data on a Blackberry smarptphone

From above info, it is clear that you can get the same data plan at cheap rates from another MVNO subject to availability of coverage of that MVNO in your locality.
