Tikona Wireless is in the race to become second operator in India who offers 4G services in India. Tikona Wireless is planing launch 4G services by mid-2013 starting from Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat. Tikona Wireless has won 4G spectrum in five circles namely Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP-East, UP-West and Himachal Pradesh and Tikona will expand its 4G services in 10 cities in these circles.
Company will come out with attractive tariff plans and it is expected Tikona will fix charges of 10 to 25 paisa per MB of data on 4G LTE and initially Tikona will offer home broadband solutions and budget datacards (LTE).
Tikona will roll-out 4G services using the TDD LTE technology ( same technology is currently being used by Airtel in Kolkata, Bangalore and Pune for 4G Services).
RIL is also planning to launch its 4G services in 2013 starting from Delhi and Mumbai on the same technology of TDD LTE. Airtel is also expected to launch 4G services in Chennai, Delhi and Chandigarh and in Mumbai with partnership with Qualcomm.
So the year 2013 will bring 4G services in all major cities of India and we can taste the lightening speed of broadband on 4G.
