Scoop: BSNL to scrap most of Prepaid plans, launches two New Plans and F&F STV 97

Starting from 1st August, 2014, BSNL is going to scrap/withdrawn five popular plans under its prepaid GSM plans. These plans are- Per Minute Plan (Rs 37), Per Sec Plan (Rs 42), New General Plan (Rs 103), Student Plan (Rs 97) and Life time (Rs 36).

In lieu of all these above plans, BSNL is launching two new plans namely Per Minute Plan (Rs 104) and Per Sec Plan (Rs 48) and it is also modifying its one more popular plan Pyari Jodi (Rs 75).

New Per Minute Plan is priced at MRP of Rs 104 and will come with validity of 180 days and free talk time of worth Rs 100. Customers across all telecom circles except Kerala will get full talk time on subsequent recharge of Rs 200 and above while customers in Kerala will get full talk time on some select recharge coupons.

The differential charging in old Per Minutes Plan is rationalized with uniform charging at the rate of Rs 1/min for all types of calls.

New Per Sec Plan is priced at MRP of Rs 48 and will come with validity of 180 days and free talk time of worth Rs 40. Customers across all telecom circles except Kerala will get full talk time on subsequent recharge of Rs 200 and above. Customers in Kerala will get full talk time on some select recharge coupons.

The differential charging in old Per Minutes Plan is rationalized with uniform charging of 1.8p/sec  for all types of calls.

Similarly under new modified Pyari Jodi plan, uniform charging at the rate of 1.8p/sec is going to be implemented without any changes in other features.

Existing prepaid customers of the “withdrawn plans” shall be allowed to continue in their respective plan till its existing validity. However, they shall be suitably informed by BSNL about the withdrawal of the plan and options will be available for them to migrate to a new plan at the time of validity extension

A new “Friends and Family” STV at MRP of Rs 97 has also been introduced with features of free 60 minute to make call on any network. Reduced call charges to 5 friends & family local numbers while in Home LSA: On-net @ 20p/Min and Off-net @ 40p/Min, SMS charges: local SMS @ 10p/SMS and STD SMS @ 50p/sms.

This STV will come with validity of 90 days and customer will not be allowed to change in F&F numbers within validity period of 90 days. F&F numbers will continue on every subsequent recharge with this STV but if you want to change F&F numbers, you may change with additional charge of Rs 5.
