Till now the title of world’s slimmest smartphone was with Gionee Elife S5.1 because of its thickness just 5.1mm but now Oppo has snatched this title for its new flagship R5 which is designed 4.85mm thick only.
Oppo have just unveiled its new smartphone dubbed as R5 with special feature of 4.85mm thickness and 13MP main camera. Let us see what other features of R5 makes it unique over Gionee Elife S5.1.
Display: Oppo’s R5 features a 5.2 inch Full HD AMOLED display 1920x1080p while Gionee Elife S5.1 has a little smaller 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1280x720p.
Processor: R5 is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor while Elife S5.1 runs on 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.
OS: R5 runs on Oppo’s OS Color 2.o running beneath Android 4.4 while Elife S5.1 runs on Android 4.3 with Amigo 2.0 UI onboard.
RAM: R5 comes with 2GB RAM while Elife S5.1 has just 1GB RAM.
Storage: R5 and Elife S5.1 both have 16GB on-board storage but it can be expanded on Elife S5.1
Camera: R5 has rear camera of 13MP Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, and few special camera tricks such as Tracking Focus, Pure Image stitching feature that can compose 50-megapixel photos and the ability to change the focus of a photo after its been taken. It has 5MP front facing camera which will make it favorite for selfie fans. Elife S5.1 has 8MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera.
Connectivity: R5 has connectivity features include 4G LTE (inclusive of Indian 4G bands), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Elife S5.1 has same connectivity feature including 4G LTE but it is not sure that whether it support Indian 4G bands or not.
Battery: R5 is backed by 2000mAh battery while Elife S5.1 is powered by 2100mAh battery.
Price: R5 is priced at $499 and will be available in December-2014 while Elife is available at $325.
