The Prepaid arm of T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile has quietly increased plan rates and fees but if customers opt for auto-pay, they will still get the best plan rates. A device promotion will also require autopay billing and customers with auto-pay rate plans will qualify for device promos. Autopay reductions will start to apply in the second month.
Metro by T-Mobile plan has made several changes besides the new autopay one. Hotspot data for the $65 unlimited plan has increased from 20GB to 25GB, while for the $55 plan, 8GB has replaced 5GB data hotspot data. The 10GB of data included in Metro’s $45 plan now also has 2GB of hotspot data.
Metro by T-Mobile has increased several in-store costs in addition to plan rate card increases. Customers must now pay a $25 upgrade fee in order to upgrade their gadgets. It used to be $20. The price for new accounts, BYOD activations, and reactivations has increased to $25 from $20. Any activation of a gadget other than a phone will now cost $5.
