Taiwanese Smartphone maker, HTC, unveiled latest phablet named HTC One Max which has 5.9 inch full HD display with pixel density of 368 ppi and fingerprint scanner. It sports 4MP ultra pixel camera on back side and that one also has advanced CMOS sensor, image signal processor and optical lens system that captures more light than conventional 8- or 13-megapixel shooters.
The One Max phablet is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and has 2GB RAM. It runs on latest Jelly Bean version 4.3 of Android OS with Sense UI on top.
It comes with 16 and 32GB internal storage options which can further expanded up to 64 GB by microSD cards. This phablet has dual BoomSound speakers and infrared blaster, but does not have Beats Audio sound enhancement technology.
This phablet is third one after Motorola Atrix and iPhone 5S which has fingerprint scanner fitted just below the rear side camera and can be used to unlock the device by swiping the finger over the sensor.
With the launch of this phablet, let us also check all other phablets which have either launched and is available or being launched shortly.
For Windows phone fans, Nokia this month is expected to unveil its Lumia 1520 on 22 October, a 6-inch full HD screen phablet with resolution 1920 x 1080 pixel. The phablet is being powered by quad-core 2GHz MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 processor, with Adreno 330 graphics, and 2GB of RAM.
The phablet will sport a 20.7MP camera with Zeiss optics and better saturation settings, panorama, and OIS. The sensor will be capable of shooting 5MP and 16MP photos at the same time.
Furthermore, the camera is said to be able to shoot photos at a maximum resolution of 18MP and to offer 4X lossless zoom for HD video recording.
Nokia Lumia 1520 will be in two variants 32GB / 64GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot for expansion purposes, and a nano-SIM card slot. The phablet will also support for 4G LTE networks. The phablet is powered by 3400mAh battery.
Rumor is that Nokia will unveil the new device on October 22 and it will be available at AT&T on November 2. The phablet may be available globally in coming December. At AT&T, it will be priced at $299 (€220) on contract while in open market it will be on sale at $699 (€515).
LG Vu 3
Another Android powered phablet is LG’s Vu 3 which has 5.2-inch screen with resolution of 1280 x 960-pixel display with unique attribute of 4:3 aspect ratio. The phablet is designed around a 2.26-GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and it runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2.2. It sports a 13 MP rear-facing camera, and a 2.1 MP front facing camera. The Vu 3 is currently available only in Korea.
Sony Xperia Z Ultra
This phablet was launched in July-2013. It has biggest screen of 6.4-inch full HD display of pixel density of 342 ppi, resolution 1920 x 1080-pixel. The Xperia Z Ultra is a waterproof as well as dust resistant phablet. It comes with 2GB RAM and internal memory of 16GB which can further expanded up to 64 GB by microSD card slot.
This phablet also feature 2.26-GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with Adreno 330 Graphic processor and it runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2. it has 8MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera. It also support 4G-LTE networks.

Spice has launched new phablet Spice Pinnacle Stylus at Rs 15999 which comes with Stylus pen just like sibling of Samsung’s Galxy smartphone with S-Pen.

This 5.7 inch phablet was released in India in August-2013 and also has all specifications as of international branded phablet. It has screen with resolution of 1280×720 pixel with pixel density of 258 ppi.
It is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2 OS. It has 1GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory only, it doesn’t have microSD card.
It sports 12MP rear camera and more sharp 5MP front facing camera. It is powered by 2600mAh battery. At present it is available in the price range of Rs 18640.
This 5.5 inch phablet was launched in India in July-2013 has all fabulous specifications as of international branded phablet. It has screen with resolution of 1280×720 pixel with pixel density of 267 ppi.
It is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2 OS. It has 1GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB by microSD card.
It sports 13MP rear camera and more sharp 5MP front facing camera. It is powered by 2600mAh battery. At present it is available in the price range of Rs 17475.
Apple is also said to be testing iPhone screen as large as 6 inch which may be called iPhone phablet and may be launched next year. 6 inch iPhone maxi would be nice in between 4-inch iPhone and 7.9-inch iPad mini tablet.
