Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released telecom subscription data for the month of Sept-2021 in which Jio has lost a major part of its wireless customers to the tune of 19 million, Vodafone also continues the trend of losing its wireless customers and lost 10.78 customers. Airtel managed to gain wireless customers but BSNL is the continuous loser in both wireless and wireline customers.
Wireless Customers
As can be seen in the below table, the biggest loser is Jio and lost 19 million wireless customers. The trend reversed tremendously as compared to July and Aug month. Airtel just managed to add 2.75 lakh. Vi and BSNL both continue losing customers and lost around 10.78 lakh customers and 8.72 lakh customers respectively.
Wireline Customers
BSNL lost the ground as compared to July numbers and has lost 1.5 lakh wireline customers in the last two months. Jio, Vodafone, and Airtel just managed to add numbers in positive.

Internet Customers
The growth in Internet customers is substantial and all major TSPs as well major private cable operators contribute to it by adding more customers every month.
Except for BSNL, all other TSPs like Jio, Airtel, and Vi have added wireline broadband customers while BSNL lost wired broadband customers. Cable operators ACT, Hathway, and Tikona keep adding customers by launching matching tariff plans of their competitors. The details of Internet customers are shown in the below table.
