Idea, Airtel and Vodafone matches data charges with BSNL after reduction by 80-90%

In last two days, Vodafone started reducing data charges by 80% for their 2G data pack users in Karnataka, UP West and MP-Chhatisgarh circle and new rate announced is 2p/10KB for both prepaid and postpaid customers while Airtel followed Vodafone and reduced data rates by 90% for Airtel 2G prepaid customers in MP, UP East, Kolkatta, Haryana, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, Punjab and Orissa circle.

Airtel announced new data rates of 1p/10KB on its recharge vouchers of Rs 22, Rs 25 and Rs 125.The validity of Rs. 22 and Rs. 25 recharge vouchers has been increased to 30 days while validity of Rs. 125 recharge vouchers increased to 90 days.

In this chain, now Idea have also joined this group and offered 2G data rates, after reducing 90%, 2p/10KB. The new data rates from Idea will be effective from 1-July-2013 for 90 days and can be availed by recharge of nominal value of Rs 5 to Rs10.

You must be surprised that BSNL is having data rates for its all 3G data users on Pan India basis at 2p/10 KB since long time and now after reduction, data rates of Vodafone, Airtel and Idea matches with BSNL.

It is clear from this trend that till now all these private operators were charging 80 to 90% higher data rates as compared to BSNL for same data usage.
