How to Activate and Deactivate BSNL Name Caller Tune

BSNL now allow you to set, activate & deactivate your name as your BSNL name caller tune on your mobile phone number and giving you the liberty to get rid of the standard monotonous ring-back tone. How do you feel if your friend or family member calls you and they listen a ring back tone like…<Your name> will pick up the phone soon, please wait… Wow! Yes, you can now set, activate & deactivate a ring-back tone like this on your BSNL Mobile number yourself in three simple ways.

Activation and Deactivation of BSNL Name Caller Tune by SMS by the following steps.

1. Send an SMS BT ACT to 56700 from your prepaid or postpaid BSNL mobile number, this will activate BSNL Caller Tune Service, this will activate a default tune on your mobile number. Sending SMS to 56700 is not free, it is chargeable @ Rs. 2 per SMS.
2. Now, to set your name as caller tune, you have to send SMS NT <Your Name> to 56799 if your SIM is in South or East Zone otherwise send SMS NT <Your Name> to 56777 if your SIM is in North or West Zone. Sending SMS to 56799 is chargeable @ Rs 1 per SMS.
3. After sending the above SMS, you will receive a return SMS from BTUNES to choose a particular name from options (English, Hindi, or other regional languages) given in SMS as your Name caller tune.
4. After selecting the name, you have to confirm it by sending its number again to 56799, this will now activate your name as a caller tune for your mobile number.

In this simple way, you can set your name as caller tune but its subscription charges are Rs 30 and Rs 12 as name tune charges per month which will be deducted from the balance of your prepaid number or will be added to your postpaid mobile bill.

To deactivate the name tune service, you just need to send SMS BT DACT to 56700 from your BSNL number, this will also charge @Rs 2.

You can also activate and deactivate the name tune by dialing IVRS number 5670087, call to 5670087 is chargeable @Rs 2 per minute.

BSNL South & East Zone subscribers can also activate and deactivate name tunes by using BSNL Mobile App by following steps

• Open My BSNL Tunes App on your mobile screen
• Click on Name, Type Name, and Search
• Enter your required name in the search bar to activate as name tune
• Select the name from the combination displayed from the list
• Select the Language as required regional/ national/ international language to spell your name tune
• Listen to your name tune before activation
• Select for All Callers / Special Callers
• Submit
