Facebook messenger application is the new entry in the club of applications which offers video calling feature. Yes, Facebook today announced that the users of its messenger application will be able to make free video calls from their Android phone to Android or iOS phones and vice versa.
With addition of this video calling feature to Facebook messenger makes it competitor with other well established apps like Skype , Google Hangouts and Facetime.
Facebook messenger is already powered by voice call feature but to use video calling feature, user need fast internet connection like 4G LTE or Wi-Fi connection and the video call may be initiated just by tapping video camera icon on the top of the screen during text chatting with your friend.
Facebook has launched this video calling feature in 18 countries namely Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Laos, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, the U.K., the U.S.A, and Uruguay. Facebook is planning to introduce this video calling feature in other countries in coming months so we can hope Indian facebook users will soon be able to use this video calling feature on their smartphones.
