BSNL today announced to hike prepaid tariffs with effective from May 26, 2014 for all prepaid customers across the country.
BSNL is going to hike tariffs by three ways. Either validity of special tariff voucher (STV) reduced or the freebies allowed with STV is reduced or both. The price of STV is either hiked with reduction of validity period.
As per new tariff, the MRP of 1GB 3G data is going to hike from Rs 139 to Rs 145 and validity is also going to be reduced from 30 days to 28 days. Validity of data STV of Rs 17 which allows 100MB of 3G data, is going to be reduced from 3 days to 2 days. The freebies offered with data STV of Rs 98, is also going to be reduced from Rs 700MB to 650MB.
[Updated] BSNL have further revised rates and validity of 1GB data STV from Rs 145 back to Rs 139 but the validity of STV is reduced further from 28 days to 21 days.The PSU is going to introduced a new 3G data STV for 1GB data at Rs 155 with validity of 30 days as shown in exclusive screenshot. So BSNL has hiked rate of its 1GB data STV from Rs 139 to Rs 155.
Plan vouchers which are used for connections, are also going to be revised. Freebies offered are reduced in the range of 10% to 20% in almost all plan vouchers. The details are shown in exclusive screenshot as below.
Plan vouchers used in Assam, North-East and Jammu and Kashmir are also revised and freebies are going to be reduces as shown below.
The call rates also increased in voice STVs of Rs 44 and Rs 65. Validity of voice STV of Rs 47 is going to be reduced from 30 days to 28 days.
