BSNL today announced to cut down free usage of WiFi service offered under its WiFi Hotspot services. Now the customers will be able to use free WiFi for first 15 minutes only and that too, once in a month for the same mobile number.
Earlier to this change, customers at Varanasi Ghat were enjoying free WiFi services for first 30 minutes in a day for maximum 3 times in a month while customers in rest of the country were allowed first 20 minutes free usage in a day for maximum 3 times in a day.
This revised feature of free usage has been implemented on PAN India basis immediately.
Customers using this WiFi hotspot service can enjoy 4G like high download speed up to 10Mbps and can choose any prepaid plan among four coupons priced at Rs 30, Rs 50, Rs 90 and Rs 150 offering free WiFi duration 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 120 minutes and one day respectively.
BSNL has already rolled out WiFi hotspot services at 70 to 75 locations and is planning to roll out further 40000 WiFi hotspots throughout the country in next three years but the PSU has already set the target of making WiFi hotspot operational at 250 locations in 2015-16.
