Airtel now rolled out its fourth generation LTE services in Pune after successful launch and savoring good response from Kolkata and Bangalore. Pune is the third city where 4G services is available. At present in Pune the 4G services will be provided to post paid customers and then pre paid customers can also avail this service in near future.
Airtel have also introduced Airtel Broadband TV and Games on demand (GOD) for 4G customers and as an introductory offer these services can be availed by post paid customers free of cost for a limited period and later on Airtel will charge these services Rs. 150 per month or Rs. 49 per week as per choice of the customers. Broadband TV will have nearly 70 channels and GOD will have all most popular games and keeps on updating.
It must noted for Pune people that voice calling is not available in 4G because a 4G network purely support data services in India under present broadband wireless licence conditions in India.
Airtel claims speed of up to 100 Mbps download and 40 mbps upload on their 4G plans but customers of Kolkatta and Bangalore, who have actually tested 4G services, are getting the speed of around 30 mbps download and 10 mbps upload in 4G services.
Just see the tariffs of Airtel’s 4G plans, Airtel offers four plans – Free, Break Free Max, Break Free Ultra and Break Free Ultimate – priced between ₹999 and ₹2,999 and just see carefully that after free usage, speed reduces to 128 kbps in all plans that means if you are having even higest plan of Rs. 2999 per month, you will get speed of 128 kbps after free usage of 30 GB. Those who are new to 4G services, we can compare 4G services with 3G services, we know that 3G services are available at speeds of 2 mbps, 3.6 mbps, 7.2 mbps, 14.4 mbps and 21 mbps but customers get actual speed of 3G as 1100kbps for download and 500kbps for upload while actual 4G speed experienced are 30 mbps download and 10 mbps upload. As compared to 3G, Now you may imagine how fast 4G is. The major difference between 3G and 4G is that voice calling is also available in 3G.
