Just after announcing new 
terms and conditions for VoIP calls, Airtel is now preparing to bring exclusive data packs for prepaid customers to make VoIP calls. The specific VoIP data pack will come with 75MB data exclusively for making VoIP calls and will be priced at Rs. 75 with a validity of 28 days.
With this much data, 75MB, customers could make hardly 100 minutes voice calls. Add-on plans for postpaid customers for specific VoIP calls will also be launched in phased manner
Airtel says “ Prepaid customers who have recharged with data packs before 24-12-2014, are able to make VoIP calls from their data packs till their data packs consumed, after which new terms and conditions will be applicable for them.
Data packs for specifically for making VoIP calls is one of the unique product in the world and with this move, Airtel is discouraging its customers for using VoIP calls, WhatsApp is ready to launch VoIP call service.
Furious Airtel customers have two options, either they continue to pay extra/more for VoIP calls or they may switch to other operator, (other operators are not charging for VoIP calls), they can keep their mobile number by opting MNP.
