Pinterest is the social media platform which is heavily populated by women and consisting of things you can buy and adorable animals, functions by allowing users to “pin” different images to various interest boards that they create.
Since Pinterest launch, all images and videos pinned to Pinterest have been made public, making it impossible to for users to use the service for pinning gift ideas or other content that they may not want to make available for public viewing or comments.
For example, if I create a board titled “Wedding surprises” and “pins” adorable pictures of things that are useful in a weddings like wedding dresses, jewellery etc. All of these have been public.
Pinterest have announced a new feature that will let you to create “secret boards” so that now on wards you pins the things that can be made private or shared by invitation only.
As the Pinterest explains
“The holidays are a time for being with family, sharing great meals, and, of course, surprising your favorite people with a special gift,” wrote Pinterest software engineer Evrhet Milam in a company blog post.“That’s why we thought the holidays were a perfect time to test one of our most frequently-requested features: secret boards!”
Pinterest is allowing users to create three Secret Boards and there would not be any option to switch a current Board to a Secret Board.
One of site is commenting on this move of Pinterest is that now Pinterest would be Pornterest and keeps your fetishes private but the Pinterest is also updated its privacy policy to include information on secret boards and will be sending notifications to its users to let them know about the changes.
