Idea Cellular’s i-Plan v/s Airtel’s myPlan : Analysis

Country’s leading mobile operator, Idea Cellular has introduces i-Plan, customizable plans for postpaid customers, similar to Airtel’s myPlan. These iPlans, which are basically fixed monthly rentals of Rs 199, Rs 299, Rs 399, Rs 599 and Rs 999 are available for all postpaid customers across all telecom circles where Idea operates.idea_pplan

Let us analyze these plans with Airtel’s myPlan.

Idea ! Plans are exactly same as Airtel’s myPlan, both have customizable five postpaid plans with same monthly rental and same free packs offerings. Have a look on below table.

The free packs offered with postpaid plans are almost same as shown below. However Idea! Plans have one more additional options of STD calling pack of 90 min free.

To cop up your additional need of data usage as well voice mins, Idea also have more add on packs as compared to Airtel’s myPlan. Idea offers add ons of local calling/ STD calling pack for Rs 50 and also offers Roaming pack of Rs 75 which allow customer receive all incoming calls free during roaming. Just see below.

After exhausting all the above free packs, voice calls of Idea user are charged at flat rate of 50p/min for all calls on any network while Airtel have classified charges in two categories, Local calls are charged @50p/min while STD calls on any network are charged @60p/min. Excess data usage on Idea will be charged @2p/10KB for 2G as well as 3G data.

Looking above, it is clear that Idea ! Plans are simpler, more flexible and have many more options for customization as per present need of the customers.
