Post 1 February,2014 BSNL customers will no longer be entitled to get free SIM as replacement for their lost or damaged SIMs if even they agree to top-up their mobile number with Rs 100 or Rs 140 because BSNL is going to withdraw its free SIM replacement offer which was introduced almost 100 days ago (15, October, 2013).

Good news is for those BSNL customers who are not ready to top-up with Rs 100 or Rs 140 at the time of SIM replacement and they have to pay SIM replacement charges in full as Rs 100 for 2G and Rs 140 for 3G, Now they have to pay just Rs 20/Rs 59/Rs 200 as per the SIM memory only.

BSNL is going to rationalize charges for SIM replacement for all kinds of SIM whether it may be 2G/3G SIM, micro SIM, nano SIM or 256K SIM and new charges are shown in the below exclusive screenshot of BSNL order.BSNL_sim_replac

Just to recall, BSNL had hiked SIM replacement charges from Rs 20 to Rs 100 and Rs 59 to Rs 140 almost 15 months ago (19-11-2012)

This is really a bad news. some days before anyone can get a free sim which was damaged or lost by providing a FIR copy. But now it asks for charges. I think BSNL is going poorer and poorer. For which it takes charges on lost Sim’s. By the way thanks a lot for such a nice and informative information and i appreciate a lot for your blogging effort.
