India’s state-run PSU, the BSNL has nine Special Tariff Vouchers (STV) for making ISD Voice calls and sending International SMS at reduced tariffs. However, BSNL is rationalizing all these ISD STVs for prepaid and postpaid customers.
BSNL is consolidating all these ISD STVs and withdrawing ISD STVs of short validity of 7 days while ISD STVs of longer validity of 30 days
BSNL will continue to offer new tariffs from 15 October-2013 for prepaid customers while postpaid customers can add these new ISD add-on packs in their billing cycle starting from 1-11-2013.
The new ISD Packs offer the same call rates for Voice calls but BSNL has increased the rate for International SMS from Rs 2.50 to Rs 3 per SMS. It must also be noted that without loading these ISD packs, the rate for International SMS is Rs 5 per SMS.
