Compare: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Alcatel’s Onetouch Hero

During recent global innovative consumer electronic show IFA at Berlin, Germany, Samsung announced Galaxy Note 3 and Alcatel also unveiled its flagship Onetouch Hero to compete with Samsung Galaxy Note 3.alcatel_one_touch

Both Smartphones are powered by Android latest version of Jelly Bean Operating System and have almost same screen size. Both are having rear facing camera of 13MP.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a multitasking device which comes with S Pen and has capability of understanding handwriting and runs applications with swift and slickness while Alcatel’s Onetouch Hero is nicely designed with decent curves.

Let us compare broadly main specifications and deduce which one is better than other.

Built and Design: The sleek design of Galaxy Note 3 has dimension of 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm and it weighs is about 168 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of Alcatel Onetouch Hero are 158.5 x 80.6 x 8.5 mm and it is heavier than Galaxy Note 3 as other regular devices.

Display: The Galaxy Note 3 sporting a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED touch display while Alcatel Onetouch Hero is slightly bigger and has 6 inch IPS LCD display. Both Smartphone has screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels but Galaxy Note 3 has slightly higher pixel density of 386 ppi while Onetouch Hero has 367 ppi.

Display of Galaxy Note 3 has light and proximity sensors while display of Onetouch Hero also has proximity sensor, light sensor with Oleophobic coating.

Processor: Both Smartphones come with powerful quad core processors. The Alcatel Onetouch Hero has been equipped with Quad core 1.5 GHz processor whereas the Galaxy Note 3 gets a 2.3 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip with a Krait 400 central processing unit(CPU). Here Galaxy Note 3 wins with powerful Processor.

Operating System: The Galaxy Note 3 operates on Android Jelly Bean v4.3, however, Onetouch Hero functions on Android 4.2.2 version. Galaxy Note 3 again makes things equal by running on newer Jelly Bean version of Android OS.

Memory: The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 3GB RAM and an inbuilt storage of 32 GB with micro SD card slot to expand the memory up to 64GB While Onetouch Hero is equipped with 2GB RAM and has inbuilt memory of 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32GB by micro SD card. And with this, the Galaxy Note 3 again leads.

Camera: Both devices are loaded with a primary camera of 13 Mega Pixels having resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixel fitted on rear side and secondary camera of 2MP in front side. Rear Camera on Both devices has auto focus and LED flash with LED flash.

Rear Camera on Onetouch has the ability of Geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus, panorama and the camcorder can capture 1920 x 1080 or 1080p HD videos while rear camera on Galaxy Note 3 has more features such as the back-illuminated sensor, digital image stabilization, smile detection, ISO control, white balance presets and many more.

This feature not only save your battery but also you can enjoy reading yours favorite books outdoor in bright day sun light. Galaxy Note 3 has a new semi-circle stylus-specific menu, Air Command, that appears the moment as you slide the S Pen out of the silo. Air Command has five items: Action Memo, Scrapbooker, Screen Write, S Finder and Pen Window and you can launch one of them with a single tap of the S-Pen.

Connectivity Features: The connectivity alcatel-one-touch-2options by both the smartphones are 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Mobile Hotspot and micro USB. The Galaxy Note 3 also offers Wi-Fi direct option.

Battery: The Galaxy Note 3 is powered by a Li- ion battery of 3,200 mAh while Onetouch Hero has slightly higher battery of 3400 mAh.

Price and Availability: The Galaxy Note 3 has already launched in India and other 140 countries last month and is priced around $770 in US open market, £649 in the UK, in Germany it costs you €700, while in India it is on sale for Rs 45,908 to Rs 49,900. The price of Alcatel Onetouch Hero is yet to be disclosed by the company. Onetouch will be launched first in China this November.
