If you go to BSNL office and they charges more for 
your defective/lost/theft SIM replacement, don’t get surprised because BSNL has increased the charges for SIM replacement w.e.f. 19-11-2012, i.e. if your SIM become defective by any means or if you lost/theft your Mobile handsets then to get a new SIM in place of defective SIM or lost/theft SIM, you have to pay more.
- For replacement of 2G SIM (including micro SIM) of 32K or 64K memory, you have to pay Rs 100 including of STax.
- For replacement of 3G USIM (including micro SIM) of 128K or more memory, you have to pay Rs 139 including of STax.
These charges are also applicable in case you are migrating to 3G USIM from 2G SIM.
But BSNL have kept replacement charges for its Retailers intact and will charge Rs 20 only
