In one another steps, to increase the bsnl_gprsrevenue, this time BSNL is not increasing the MRP of its products but it is now going to decrease free data usage for its GPRS/EDGE users up to 50%.  From 17th April-2013, the GPRS/EDGE users will get 1.5GB free data usage instead of 2GB data by purchasing STV of Rs 125.

The STV of Rs 270 will now offer you just 50% of what you were getting i.e. now you will get free data of 5GB instead of 10GB.  The STV of Rs 300 will now offer you 6GB data usage instead of 8GB within validity period of 90 days. BSNL have also reduced validity period of STV of Rs 54 from 30 days to 25 days but this STV will continue to offer same free data usage i.e. 500 MB.bsnl_2gstvs

After consuming free data usage, the additional data usage will be charged  @2p/10kb.

BSNL have one more GPRS/EDGE STV of Rs 219 which offer total 8GB but out of that 4GB is to be used in Night hours only (from 11PM to 6AM).

Now onwards, you may not find BSNL data plans so much cheaper as compared to other mobile operator’s.
